Will your system work on vehicles converted to run on CNG?

  1. Will my engine run hotter?
No. The HPS System actually cools the engine, widens the torque range and makes the vehicle accelerate faster.
  2. Will my engine rust on the inside?
No. While it is true that when the additional Hydrogen burns it creates a small amount of "new" water, you already have water running through your engine now, in your exhaust from burning gasoline and natural condensation.  The additional Hydrogen (and the small amount of new water vapor it creates) will produce a quieter and smoother running engine. This is due to the effect that the small amount of "new" water has on the combustion cycle inside your engine.
  3. Will Hydrogen damage my engine?
No, the HPS System will not damage any part of the engine or components. In fact your vehicle will run better, cooler and more efficiently once you start using the HPS System.
Hydrogen is clean burning and produces water vapor as the only exhaust product. It will keep the oil cleaner and reduce carbon build up within the engine. (back to top)
  4. Will the HPS System void my warranty?
    No.
Our device is an “after-market” product in full compliance with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act,  so our device will neither harm your engine nor void your warranty. Click the Warranty Info tab for more information. (back to top)
  5. What Happens when Hydrogen burns?
    1. It produces only water. When Hydrogen is burned with the fuel in your vehicle, it scavenges and burns away carbon built up in your engine resulting in a clearner exhaust with a bit more water vapor.
    2. Hydrogen does not contribute to global warming. When Hydrogen burns in air (which is mostly nitrogen), some oxides of nitrogen (NOx, contributors to smog and acid rain) can be formed, but much fewer pollutants are formed than when normal hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline and diesel are burned.
    3. Hydrogen is a non-toxic, naturally-occurring element in the atmosphere. By comparison, all petroleum fuels are asphyxiants, and are poisonous to humans.
  6. Will my car explode like the Hindenburg?
No. The HPS system creates Hydrogen on demand that is immediately burned in the engine. The tiny amounts present in the unit and hoses are not enough to suppport an explosion.
  7. What happens in an accident, will it blow up?
No, it will not blow up because it can not blow up. The HPS System is very safe.  It creates ultra low pressure Hydrogen, which is consumed as the engine operates.  If the unit runs out of water it simply stops working. If the unit is ruptured in a crash the tiny amount of Hydrogen present in the unit and hoses will immediately disperse up into the atmosphere. If the Electrolyte is spilled it can be washed or rinsed off with little or no effect on the ground or pavement. If it gets splashed on a person it can be washed off and neutralized with common household white vinegar. Safety precautions are clearly explained in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. (back to top)
  8. If I travel and have a problem, who will fix it?
Any qualified mechanic, by following the directions found in the Operation and Maintenance Manual, should be able to get it working. If not simply turn the system off until you can bring it back for service.
  9. Can the HPS System be used on any car or truck?
Yes, our systems are engineered for almost all vehicles, generators and boats that use Gasoline or Diesel  powered internal combustion engines. This includes ethanol, gasahol and Biodisel, but not Propane, LNG or CNG vehicles. We have not experimented with Propane, LNG or CNG vehicles so frankly we don't know if it would work or not.
  10. Will the HPS System work with old style carburetors?
Yes. We have systems specifically designed for both types of fuel systems, carbureted  as well as fuel injected. (back to top)
  11. How can my engine power this device and still get the gains you claim? Don't the Laws of Physics state you can't get more energy out of something than you put in?
We are happy to report we comply with all Laws of  Physics! But seriously, before we can answer this question we need to set the stage. Currently your engine extracts just a fraction of the energy present in the gasoline or diesel that powers your vehicle, the rest exits the tail pipe as pollution. By using just a tiny bit of "excess" electricity generated by your alternator (6 to 30 amps) we can add a tiny bit Hydrogen to the fuel mix, thus enabling your engine to extract much more energy from the fuel. The energy recovered more than offsets the electricity we use to create the Hydrogen. The result is a
BIG net energy gain and reduced pollution, and the Laws of the Universe remain in harmony!  (back to top)
  12. Will using the HPS System improve the environment?
Yes. Using Hydrogen produced by the HPS system will improve the overall efficiency of your internal combustion engine, thereby causing a cleaner exhaust and lower fuel consumption. (back to top)
  13. Will the HPS System improve my engine's horsepower?
Yes. Running Hydrogen gas through your engine is like running 130 octane fuel.  The HPS System helps eliminate carbon deposits caused by unburned gasoline. In the first few days you will notice that your engine runs smoother and quieter. The small amount of "new" water vapor created when Hydrogen burns in the engine changes the combustion cycle into a more even or "round" cycle. This happens immediately upon installation and from that moment on, your engine works in a new way. The effect is not only less noise, it's also less vibration, resulting in reduced strain on the transmission (thus smoother gear shifts), cleaner pistons and valves, and generally better engine operation.
  14. How much of an increase can I expect to get on my M.P.G.?
We guarantee at least a 10% improvement, and many customers may experience up to a 25% increase in MPG, depending on your vehicle and driving habits. This includes both city and highway driving conditions. This is an estimate only and individual results may vary.
  15. Do I ever have to add chemicals?
No. You never have to add chemicals or additional electrolyte, just distilled water.
  16. Will the HPS System ever freeze?
No, unless the outside temperature falls to  -50° Farenheit. The Water Tank CANNOT freeze because besides the distilled water you add the Technician added a quantity of Electrolyte (Potassium Hydroxide) when your system was first installed. Becasue the Electrolye is never consumed it always stays in the water tank. This water/electrolyte mix is a natural antifreeze. The Bubbler Tank CANNOT freeze  because the Bubbler Tank is filled with RV antifreeze for potable water systems which prevents freezing to  -50° Farenheit. The only problem cold weather may cause is that the system may take two or three minutes longer to get to full hydrogen production than in warm weather.  (back to top)
  17. Is the Electrolyte solution dangerous to me or my engine?
    This requires two separate answers:
    1. Can it hurt me? Yes, but only if you managed to spill or splash it on you and not wash it off immediately. It is similar to strong Lye soap and can cause skin irritations and eye burns. You do NOT have access to the Electrolyte. It is however a corrosive liquid and must be treated with respect and caution. Safety precautions are clearly explained in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
    2. Can it hurt my engine? Yes, but only if it managed to get into the engine continuously for months. The HPS is designed to keep the Electrolyte always in the HPS System. However as an additional safeguard the HPS System has filtering methods to insure that only pure Hydrogen gas and a trace of water vapor reach the engine, nothing else. Electrolyte safety measures and design details are spelled out in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.(back to top)
  18. How often must I add water to the HPS System?
Every vehicle is a little different, but on the average you will add about one pint (1/2 liter) of distilled water every 1,600 miles to keep the water tank topped off. (back to top)
  19. How & where do I add water to the HPS System?
There will be a filler tube located in the engine compartment within easy reach. Remove the cap, add distilled water and replace the cap. (back to top)
  20. Are there any issues with Hydrogen Embrittlement?
    No.
We produce hydrogen at ultra low pressure that is used immediately. Additionally, Hydrogen produced by electrolysis is mostly diatomic molecules of stable hydrogen (two atoms together) that are too big to enter metal. Hydrogen Embrittlement occurs when Hydrogen is produced in an ionic or atomic state (single atoms) and has time to penetrate the metal of a pressurized container. (back to top)
  21. Will your system work on vehicles converted to run on CNG?
No, not at this time. Current research indicates little or no improvement is gained by adding Hydrogen to vehicles converted to run on CNG (Compressed Natural Gas). Until we run additional tests we will only offer our system for engines that run on Gasoline or Diesel fuel. (back to top)
